trash the dress

Trash the Dress, an increasingly popular trend in wedding photography, originally started out on the West Coast and the East Coast has finally caught on. It was even featured on the Today Show October 6, 2009. The idea behind a TTD session is that most brides spend a considerable amount of money on their wedding dress and wear it only a few hours. So why not wear it again? The sessions take place in non-traditional locations. Nicole has photographed brides swimming in the ocean, hiking in the desert, playing at Coney Island, and exploring abandoned forts to name a few.

No, you are not required to completely ruin your wedding dress. Nicole can photograph you in a way that is artistic without actually damaging the dress. For the squeamish, a second-hand dress that is a similar style to the wedding dress can be worn. Trash the Dress sessions can also be used for bridesmaids as well as prom dresses.

Our clients choose to take part in a Trash the Dress session to be different, have fun, and make some art. See below to view the wild ways dresses have made their final appearances.
