One of our most memorable newborn sessions was with Abi and Larissa in the NICU ward in 2019. Little Ezra is a fighter and has come so far since then. We were thrilled to photograph him this time not only to mark his first birthday, but the conclusion of his year long journey that started with 90+ days in the NICU! OF COURSE this prince should smash a cake to celebrate!
We have known Abi and Larissa a long time now, we first photographed them in Boston for their engagement and then their wedding. It is always so cool and such an honor to capture our couples’ milestones as they marry and grow into families. Abi and Larissa’s experience is proof love and family will get you through anything, as they delt with losing Ezra’s twin, Jeremy, while Ezra was fighting for life in the NICU. On this day they honored Jeremy with a cupcake adorned with a purple butterfly: the symbol of a guardian angel watching from above 🦋
Having to wait until stay at home orders were lifted gave Abi and Larissa plenty of time to plan their usual coordinating outfits and custom t-shirts, a tradition from their maternity, gender reveal, and Hanukkah photos! Their family photo albums will be so much more meaningful with these personalized traditions marking major milestones. Oh, in case you were wondering, Ezra LOVED the cake! He might have even been more interested in eating it than smashing it! He has the cutest little face, and the resulting photos are precious! Such a special way to capture a special day. We look forward to documenting Ezra’s adventures to come!
