There are moments in this work that stay with me long after I’ve put the camera down. This recent maternity session was one of them.

I had the absolute honor of documenting a radiant mama during what would become her final pregnancy—a reality no one knew at the time these photos were taken. Due to a difficult delivery and the challenges that followed, this precious baby will be the last addition to their family. And now, these images—her glowing smile, the way her children wrapped their arms around her belly, the quiet strength in her eyes—hold even more meaning.

When we planned this session, we didn’t talk about “lasts” because it wasn't on anyone's radar. We focused on celebration—of life growing, of love multiplying, of the powerful beauty of motherhood. But looking back, I see now that we were also preserving something sacred: the final chapter of a journey that shaped Jacqui's family forever.

This experience was a poignant reminder of why I do what I do. Why I believe so deeply in documenting motherhood, especially when it’s hard. Especially when it’s beautiful in ways words can’t describe. This session is now a time capsule of love, strength, and resilience—a legacy for her children to look back on and see just how deeply they were loved even before they took their first breath.

To the mamas-to-be reading this: I know pregnancy can feel long, exhausting, and even overwhelming at times. You may not always feel your best or think now is the “right time” for photos. But let this story be a gentle encouragement to pause, breathe, and let someone capture you just as you are—because this moment matters. Whether it’s your first baby or your fifth, every bump, every heartbeat, every tender kick is part of a journey worth remembering.

You’ll never regret the photos you take—only the ones you don’t.

If you’ve been thinking about a maternity session, let’s talk. Let’s create something beautiful and real—something your children will treasure long after they’ve outgrown your lap but never your love.

With love, always,
