Dan and Kayla’s love story began at work while they were coaching a swim team together. It is hard for them to pinpoint the moment they started dating because their relationship budded from an amazing friendship. Some people say the best marriages begin this way, and Dan and Kayla definitely give us that impression! It’s obvious they are so natural and comfortable together.
After Dan’s beautiful proposal on a balcony overlooking Myrtle Beach and booking their wedding at Wannamoisett Country Club, they contacted us since we are part of Wannamoisett’s Premium Package. Not only will we photograph their wedding, but the package includes a complimentary engagement session at a location of their choice, too!
Unsure of where they wanted to go, I suggested Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island for sunset photos. If you follow our blog, you know the park offers a variety of backdrops all in one location, which makes it a favorite of ours! Even though the engagement session was complimentary, Dan and Kayla were super excited because they never had professional photos of them taken before. When asked about the experience working with us, they said "We saw it as a great opportunity to push ourselves outside of our comfort zones and allow a professional to help us capture the love we have for each other in a photo."
And capture that love we did!

What was your favorite or most memorable part of your session?
Dan: Getting too excited and jumping too high.
Kayla: Nicole and Paul really helped me feel comfortable. I went in very anxious because I was very much outside my comfort zone. That began to melt away the further into the shoot that we got.
What is your favorite image and why?
Our favorite image is the one where we are sitting in front of the bridge staring into each other's eyes. It really helps capture the love we have for each other and shows us comfortable with our true smiles.
Was there anything you learned about us and how we shoot that you didn't know ahead of time?
We did not realize how much of a race it is against the sun. You guys really worked hard to ensure we were getting the best lighting for the best pictures possible. The results of the shoot showed that through and through!
