Jason and Jess were a dream couple to photograph for an engagement shoot. We love all our couples, but Jason and Jess were so enthusiastic they even brought champagne and a change of clothes to their session! And yes, while all couples get excited, some get super nervous in front of the camera - but not Jason and Jess. They were so natural and photogenic; it was as if they practiced poses for this engagement shoot their entire lives!
To take advantage of the New England foliage, we chose Colt State Park for their engagement session. Aside from brilliant fall colors, it offers diverse landscape and scenery to add some variety to the photo shoot. Wherever we went, it was obvious Jason and Jess love each other’s company. From silly faces to skipping off into the distance, they were nonstop energy and amusement! Jason absolutely had Jess (and us) cracking up the whole time. “Romantic Fun” is not the usual description for a couple or a shoot, but that is exactly how we would describe them!
A little preparation goes a long way. Props like champagne add personal touch while coordinating your outfits make your finished photos look cohesive. Jason and Jess made some solid choices; packing a change of clothes allowed them to get a little dirty on the ground and climbing around, but it also gave them the versatility of having more formal photos, since their second outfits were a bit dressier! In fact, they loved the photos so much they ordered a custom guest sign in book from us to use on their wedding day in 2021!
The big takeaway from this engagement shoot is: Have fun, be yourselves, get silly, and love each other!
