Our relationship with the Milonas family began when we photographed their wedding at Ocean Cliff back in 2017. They were so happy with their experience that when their first son was born in 2020, they told me "we knew we wanted to work with you again." – talk about a compliment!
The photos we took during baby Nick’s newborn session were so adorable that when baby Lucas made his debut in 2023, hiring me for the newborn photos was without question! They were so sure of their decision they booked me last fall during their holiday mini session at Mount Hope Farm, which is when I found out Steph was expecting again. She explained their holiday cards were going to double as pregnancy announcements for the whole family – what a smart way to combine the message in one card!
I love photographing wedding clients as their families grow. Steph said one of their favorite parts about working with us is how relaxed and comfortable we make them feel, which is extra important during a newborn session full of roller coaster postpartum emotions. It is not something you’ll experience with a turn- and-burn type of portrait studio; a relationship like this only comes with years of experience and the bond we form with our returning clients!
What tips could you offer another family about the importance of hiring a professional photographer versus a friend with a camera?
Professional photographers take a lot into consideration when shooting that a friend with a camera likely would not. Things like color, lighting, contrast, and angles are important if you want quality photos. It will also save you the hassle of having to re-do your photos or trying to figure out how to edit them afterwards. Remember that these photos will be looked back on for decades.
