Mary was referred to us when she casually mentioned to a friend (thanks, Becky!) that her entire family would be coming to town Fourth of July weekend, and she would really like photos of them all together. Since Mary’s three children and their families live in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts it was a rarity they would all be in Rhode Island at once. She knew she had an opportunity too good to pass up!

In the days prior to their session, we spoke with Mary over the phone a few times to plan the location and ideal time to meet for their family portraits. It was decided the photos would be taken outdoors on the rocks along the coast near their home in Narragansett, so having a schedule was important lighting wise - no one wants to get caught out there after dark! Additionally, because Mary has three small grandchildren, we wanted to make sure the timing was right for them so they would be in the best mood possible for their portraits!

We were so happy to take these photos for Mary and her family. It was especially fun to see all three generations goofing off and having a blast together! After covid, we feel many families value family time a bit more than they may have in the past (we know we do!), and the Sullivan family took advantage of the chance they had for family portraits once travel restrictions eased up and vaccinations rolled out. Who knows when they might get the opportunity again, but at least they will always have these family photos to remember and celebrate coming together again after a long and tough year!
