Kyle Proposes to Leah During Their First Visit to Newport

When Kyle initially reached out to us, he warned us it would be tough making secret vacation proposal plans without tipping off his travel agent girlfriend, Leah, since she always plans their trips together. They both live in New York and had never visited Rhode Island before, so he did not know the area. We assured Kyle we could help him find a romantic location where we would blend in seamlessly, and he put his complete trust in us!
Since he had never been to Newport or Gurney’s, we sent Kyle marked-up photos of where on their gorgeous waterfront property he could pop the question. As a proposal photographer who has spent a lot of time photographing Newport, we knew the Newport Bridge & stunning views of Narragansett Bay would be the ideal backdrop around sunset!
No detail was unprepared for on the big day. When they were heading downstairs to watch the sunset outside, Kyle sent us a quick selfie of what he was wearing (do not forget, we had never met) so we would know it was them. We literally hid in the bushes where no one would notice us until we saw him stop – and then we jumped into action!
He totally nailed the proposal. She was so surprised; it was clear she had no idea it was coming! Another happy ending captured on film… and they already have the photos to use for their engagement announcements!
