You might remember Stephen and Melissa from the blog we wrote about their engagement session last summer; they were the couple who took one look at each other and knew they had to go on a date when they met while dropping their kids off at daycare!
Residents of New Hampshire, Stephen and Melissa are no strangers to Rhode Island and certainly not Narragansett; the couple rents a vacation cottage next door to their wedding venue, The Galilee Beach Club, every summer - so they knew early on they wanted to be married here. The September day they chose turned out to be sunny and warm (the trend lately in RI!); so beautiful in fact that Melissa and her sister snuck out for an early morning bike ride before the festivities began. Talk about a chill bride – we haven’t met any so relaxed in the early hours of their wedding day! Once the Melissa returned from her little excursion, everyone got ready at the Break Hotel in lovely suites overlooking the pool area. The wedding party was family oriented and incorporated both of their kids, the bride’s sister, her niece and nephew, and the groom’s brother.
When it came time for the ceremony, somehow the day and the weather became even more perfect! The beach served as the location of their nuptials, and there was absolutely no wind, which is practically unheard of on the New England coast. The timing of the day could not have been better: gorgeous conditions, amazing lighting, and a fabulously fun couple!
Side note: the staff at the Galilee Beach Club was AMAZING! They had a vendor table that included water, bread, salad, and an entree for us to enjoy when we had time. They also kept us in the loop and were an overall joy to work with. You could always find them raking the sand by the beach and fire pits so everything always looked perfect – highly recommend!!!
