Steve and Melissa live in New Hampshire and were referred to me by a colleague for wedding photos and an engagement session. When Melissa called me, we hit it off right away and they hired me on the spot. Sometimes you just know when you click with a client (or likewise a photographer) and have awesome working chemistry, and this was one of those times!
Despite living up north, Steve and Melissa already knew they wanted to get married in Rhode Island, or more specifically in Galilee, Rhode Island. They love spending time here in the summer, and who can blame them? Anyone who knows Galilee knows it’s got everything: sandy beaches, fabulous restaurants, bars, the ferry, an entire fleet of fishing vessels, and gorgeous views of the breaker walls and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Galilee has all the bells and whistles of a quintessential southern New England town, which made it the perfect backdrop for their engagement session!
Steve and Melissa made a weekend trip for the occasion, a good idea so we would not have to worry about squeezing their session into a day trip from New Hampshire. And who doesn’t need a weekend getaway, anyways!?! We had so much fun out and about in Galilee taking their photos; they are super laid back and we had a lot of laughs. We even stopped by the Galilee Beach Club, there wedding venue, for a few teaser photos under the ceremony arch. As you can see from the photos, Steve and Melissa are just so relaxed, natural, and happy together - we cannot wait to photograph their wedding on September 10th!

How did you meet?
We met at our kids’ daycare, one look and I knew I had to go on a date!
Where was your first date?
Stella Blue, a great restaurant and bar. We try going back every year on our anniversary, August 25th!
Where and how did you get engaged?
In Miami, Florida for my 40th birthday on a chartered private boat on the Atlantic ocean!
Why was it important for you to do an engagement session (besides it coming with your photo package)?
We never have time for photos together and time to just spend together.
What was your favorite part of your session?
When we were on the stairs and you asked us to look out for distance, and we were laughing - wondering where he was looking!
What is your favorite image and why?
The one by the shop store; it captures my love for shopping and deals and the one I love!
