Engagements

when everything changes

Getting engaged is one of those rare moments in life when everything feels new at once. Engagement sessions give you the chance to slow down, celebrate what just happened, and create photographs that capture the beginning of this chapter together.

Many couples also use engagement portraits for save-the-dates, wedding websites, and invitations, but more than anything, these photos become part of the story that leads into your wedding day.

Engagement sessions that feel natural

Engagement photos should never feel stiff or overly posed. My goal is to create images that feel relaxed, genuine, and true to the two of you.

We’ll choose a location that fits your personalities and move through the session in a way that feels easy and natural. Sometimes that means walking through a favorite place, sometimes it’s along the Rhode Island coast, and sometimes it’s somewhere meaningful to your story.

The result should feel like a beautiful reflection of who you are together right now.

A few engagement moments

Included with many wedding collections

Engagement sessions are included with most wedding collections. They’re a great opportunity for us to work together before the wedding day so everything feels comfortable and familiar when the big day arrives.

Couples often tell me that having an engagement session makes a huge difference on their wedding day because they already know what to expect and feel completely at ease in front of the camera.

Locations around Rhode Island

Engagement sessions can take place in many different locations depending on what feels right for you. Some couples prefer the coastline, others love parks or city locations, and some choose a place that has personal meaning in their relationship.

Rhode Island offers so many beautiful options, including Newport, Narragansett, Providence, and locations throughout the state.

How couples use engagement photos

Engagement portraits often become part of the wedding experience itself. Couples commonly use them for:

  • save-the-date announcements
  • wedding websites
  • invitations
  • guest books
  • framed prints at the wedding
  • personal keepsakes
