An Expectant Mama and her Fur Baby on the Family Farm
When it comes to portraits, whether family, engagement, or maternity, we are used to people asking if they can include their fur babies. Let’s face it, while not people, our pets hold a special place in our lives and hearts. It is natural to want to include them in our photos!
So, we were not that surprised when Lexsi reached out to us for maternity portraits and inquired about including her fur baby Max into her session. We were all about it! However, we were a little surprised when Lexsi informed us Max was not a typical fur baby - Max was a horse!
We are always game for anything, so obviously we were excited for our first ever maternity session featuring an equine! Due to the logistics of transporting and photographing a horse, we decided to do the session on Lexsi’s family farm where Max lives. During her pre-consultation, we also discussed what she should bring and wear. Since the foliage is still full, we thought a vibrant jewel-toned gown would really pop (just like that baby belly!) against the greenery – and WOW! Does it ever!!!
Stunning is an understatement. Maternity portraits of this caliber spend a lifetime on the wall, proudly displayed for the world to see. Everything about them is so amazing; they could be in Vogue magazine! And Max? Max was incredible during the photo shoot! It was as if this oversized fur baby sensed the human baby growing inside his mama. You can literally see the tenderness between them – it was heart-melting!
