White-Lewis OceanCliff Wedding

February 27, 2021

Nordia and George are proof you can plan a fabulous wedding in a short amount of time, they booked us less than a month before their wedding day! They were referred to us by Susanne Day at Oceancliff in Newport, Rhode Island, to take advantage of our special pandemic miniwedding pricing. We are both 100% believers you do not need 100 people around you to have a gorgeous and memorable day. It just takes a small group of family and close friends - as you can see from Nordia and George’s wedding photos!

These lovebirds are both from Montego Bay, Jamaica, but met here in Rhode Island at Midtown Oyster Bar where he is a chef, and she is a server. Small world, right!? Their workplace and coworkers are so important to their love story they even had their boss officiate the wedding ceremony (Awww). Their choice of officiant was just one of the personalized details they incorporated into their wedding, and details make all the difference!

How about George’s son, the mini-groom? We adore how they incorporated him into the wedding party, complete with a ring security briefcase! He loved the camera, too. The kids were all welcome, they even had a kids’ table packed with fun activities.

Let us talk about those beautiful wedding florals. The bridesmaids ordered fresh cut flowers from Trader Joe’s and personally arranged each bouquet, centerpiece, and bit of floral decor. Gorgeous! Such thought and care went into each arrangement, making them so much more special for everyone. The colors reminded us of a warm Jamaican paradise!

Speaking of Jamaica, since George’s parents could not attend the ceremony in person, they utilized technology and invited them via Zoom! The laptop was set up the entire time, and they had front row seats (at home) for the ceremony and reception, so they would not miss out. It was so touching to see George and Nordia speak with family so far away. A modern element we expect to see in weddings of the future!
