We met Jeremy and Shelbi at the Wannamoisett Country Club Wedding Show in the fall of 2019 and we hit it off right away. Sometimes you just know you have great chemistry with couples, and this was one of those times! May 1st, 2021 was their wedding date, but as you all know that pesky pandemic has not left us yet and they chose to postpone their large wedding reception until April 2022 to keep their families and friends safe and happy. We do not blame them! However, feeling sentimental towards their original wedding date, they decided a minimony wedding ceremony was a perfect way for them to tie the knot on May 1st as planned.

We placed their wedding rings on the thread in Shelbi's Sewing Room - since she loves to sew!

Jeremy and Shelbi kept the guest list to their miniwedding intimate and personal, including only their parents, siblings, and nephew – the most important people in their lives! The backyard was beautifully decorated, and they kept their "Beauty and the Beast" Disney wedding theme (which we expect you will see more of in 2022). In fact, the Mothers’ dresses came from Shop Disney! Even the weather, sometimes risky in Rhode Island in early May, agreed with them; the sun was shining, the air was warm, the birds were singing! Definitely Disney-like!

Here’s what Jeremy and Shelbi have to say…

1. Why did you decide to hire a photographer for your minimony? We wanted to hire a photographer to capture these moments even though it was not our original plan! Someday we want to look back on these memories and see how far we have come!

2. If you had to describe your minimony in a few words, what would you say? A magical backyard wedding!

3. Favorite part of the day? Is it a cliche to say all day? The whole day flew by so fast but getting to celebrate with our families close was really special. But to be specific, I think I would have to say the cake. It was incredible.

4. What made you decide to postpone your reception until next year? We wanted to postpone our reception until we felt confident it would be safe for our families to come back together and enjoy each other without anyone being worried or uncomfortable. We wanted to make sure that no one would be getting sick because of us.

During "minimony" photo coverage, we still photograph the wedding party as if it was a full day wedding.
